A decade into the new century sees religious minorities confronting serious violations of their rights around the globe. There is a list of countries especially in Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America in which religious minorities have faced a violent backlash. In our day world is increasingly divided along religious lines. Many governments had initiatives that contribute to the marginalization of religious minorities. The peoples belonging to minorities who wish to exercise their right to freedom of religion and belief faced discrimination and exclusion. The overriding challenges facing our global civilization as the new century begins are to stabilize climate and stabilize population. To stabilize population is important to respect human rights and beliefs of minorities and indigenous peoples in every major world region.
